Innisfail Dance Camp 2010

I'm going to share my experience at a dance camp I went to this past week.

When I first walked into the studio I only knew 2 or 3 people, and the rest were all very quiet and relaxed. As we started to dance they listened really well, barely said anything to anyone, and we did not have the connection between any of us because we didn;t know each other. Well one of the first things we were told to do was improv. and that is when you do unplanned dancing and free movement, and we were told to interact with each other. It was very awkward dancing with them because you only know them as dancers not human beings.
As the week continued we got more and more comfortable with each other.
This last day we were all there, they all felt like family to me, and I loved each and everyone of them. By this time we were improvising in partners and one partner has their eyes closed and the other guides you as you dance and I felt I completely trusted everyone in the room, it was like I could feel the energy building up even though I couldn't see anyone. When I felt somebody doing the same movement with me, understanding the same thing as me and feeling as if there was only one body in the whole room it gave me chills. We were one. We were all one person. I could feel the love and passion in every dancer in the room, as if it was mine... it was mine. We all understood our bodies and became human beings.
We did a dance called The Temptation of Eve. One girl was Eve and the rest of us were spirits... I felt the energy that was being carried while we were dancing. If somebody felt hurt, I would feel hurt, if one dancer feels a certain way, we all feel that way and we turn our dancing into reality. This is how we communicate, and this is the only way dancers understand each other. You dance to connect with the dancers around you. By the end of that dance I felt like crying inside because it felt so great. And we left the studio, I could feel that energy slowly pulling out of my body, and then it was gone.
Now I know that I do have more than one family and we all share something in common and that is the love and passion of dance. I know that if you are not a dancer, you will not understand this, but it truly is the best feeling I've ever felt and I love my dancing family.

My Views On Life

Okay, so you know the basics about me... my name, location, birth date, interests, bla bla bla.
You know I create... but who am I? Let me tell you what I believe.

Anything is possible. If God has the power to do anything he wants, why would people think things are impossible?

You have the ability to do anything. If you want to do something bad enough, you will for sure be able to do it.

What you imagine is what you attract. If you hate spiders… you attract spiders, if you think happy… you attract happiness, if you imagine love… you attract love. It’s the law of the universe.

If you want something, you cannot go looking for it. You have to let it come to you.
For example: Love.

Life would be easier if you think positively. If you think negatively, it backfires on you 10 times worse.

If you think you are needy, take a good look around. Chances are you way better off than 70% of people on this earth.

No matter what human you see, just remember, they are all God’s creations.

Imperfectness makes things so much better, for when you look at it you can see it’s uniqueness and character.

Trees are very much like people. Each different in their own way.

Mediation is very healthy for your body and mind.

Love everything you see. It is so unclean to hate.

No matter how old you are, or what you are doing, you will always be learning.

You don’t have to be a Christian to believe in God. You do not have to go the church to be a good person. That is only a label people put on you. On the inside, if you believe and you know you believe, that is good enough for God to see.

Children are the best people to learn from, for their happiness is everlasting, their motivation to learn constant, what they give to you is all they got, they have pure love and greatness, their intentions and thoughts are great even if they don't turn out great, and all they know is complete freedom. Children are so pure.

Love one another. ~John 13:34~

Deep Within

This is something new I tried that I got my friend to teach me. It is done with charcoal, goauche, watercolor, conte and lots of time. I really like working with mix media so I am planning on doing more of it.

Simply a Tree

This is an acrylic painting I did for a donation. It was for my sister to go to raise money to go to Peru and help build a school there. It was sold at the auction for $75. It symbolizes the comparison of trees and people, how they are unique in their own individual way.

My Beautiful Sister

This is a piece of my artwork I did with charcoal of my big sister Amber. It took me about 4-5 hours to complete it while drinking tea with my family.
