Calligraphy Practice

This is my calligraphy that I've been experimenting with lately. I am starting to get the hang of it and soon I'm going to try different things with it. Right now this is pretty basic but it's coming along :)

Inspiration

Why be jealous of someone who can do something better than you?
Take the opportunity to learn from the wiser one.
Why not use them as a lesson in life?
Let them be your inspiration.

You must not always be the "higher class,"
The one who's never wrong.
There's no one to look to for help!
So find your inspiration.

The world works in circles.
You may be the better one, but somewhere else someone is better than you,
But do not look down upon this.
Because you're there for your inspiration.

If you look up to the one you want to be like,
And tell them that they are your spotlight.
Chances are, you are their spotlight too.
Follow your inspiration.

Don't let it be a competition of better and best.
It's not being the best that makes you someone's dream.
Need not worry,
Because you're someone's inspiration.

If you feel that you're angry,
That someone is better than you.
Put it aside, and let them teach you.
Thank them, for being your inspiration.

If you find someone, who you want to be.
Do not hate them for having something you don't have.
It's how we learn, so let it be.
Let them be your inspiration.

First Day of Lent

Here is a photo I took of my arm and my rosary. As some of you people may know, today is the first day of lent, and I've decided to give up chips. This is my first time doing this and I feel great doing it so far. But this sure raised some questions for me. What do other people see in this? I find so many people say, they don't think they can achieve it, or they don't want to do it because it never works, or they give up halfway through. When you think about it, that's what lent it trying to teach us, is to not be needy and selfish. Tell me... is lent for us? I don't think so. If it was then I could see why we would make this decisions. But that is the one mistake a lot of people make. If you don't believe in lent, don't do it. It's not a matter of HAVING to do it, you have to WANT to do it. So I tell you this, I'm not doing this for me and doubting whether or not I will succeed because I know I will. I know I will because I want to. All I'm hoping to do by posting this, is try to open some people's eyes, and maybe show them something they've never really thought of before.

William Fitzsimmons

This is William Fitzsimmons and he is a singer that I love dearly. I'm going to make him a project and do a piece of art of him. I like his side profile, and he has such an intriguing face. I'm very excited to do something with this picture!

If Everyday was like Christmas

There is a Christmas song that Elvis Presely does, If Everyday was like Christmas, and he says in it, "Oh why can't everyday be like Christmas?"
It got me thinking... yeah. Why can't everyday be like Christmas? Christmas is the time of giving, donating to the poor, seeing your family, remembering Jesus Christ's birth, and time off work to relax. Why can't we do this everyday of the year? Why wait for Christmas? The 25th of December is only a date, and we don't need a certain date to celebrate these things. Why not always cook a turkey dinner for a poor family, why not celebrate Jesus' birth in July? There isn't a time or place for something so special. If it truly is special, you will celebrate it more than one day a year. Lets always bake bread for our neighbor, lets always remember why Jesus Christ was born, lets always see our family, lets always give to the poor, lets always send each other cards.

Bring Christmas year round.

The Birth of Jesus

18Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. 19Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example , was minded to put her away privily. 20But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people form their sins. 22Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuael, which being interpreted is, God with us. 24Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: 25And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Jesus.

Only the Greatest Things

There are no words to describe music. There shouldn't be words to describe it. Only the greatest things you cannot put words to. Only the greatest things remain deep within a human, only the greatest things can be so powerful it leave no words. Only the greatest things should be left silent... left a secret. If all the greatest things were advertised and easy to analyze and describe, then it wouldn’t be so great anymore. Only the greatest things remain hidden, and when one finds it, it explodes within them leaving them speechless but filled with everything else except words. That's the reason why the greatest things give you the sense of no words. It is because it is so special that it cannot be ruined by words. It wants to remain powerful.
It's so funny how something so big can be hidden from so many people. If you have an open mind, a heart that accepts and the sense of just being, things that seemed hidden before will explode within you. You just have to keep your mind spacious, and your heart big, and also your mind and body free from thoughts... unnecessary thoughts. The fact to just listen. To just wait.
When you have time for music, music has time for you. same with art, same with dance, and everything else. You get what you give... what goes out to the world from you always finds a way back home, back to you.
